Director, Product Marketing Management

The Director, Product Marketing Management has broad responsibility to lead a team of product marketing managers for all product lines to drive market expansion strategy, business growth, product marketing process improvement, and rigorous improvement of key marketing success metrics. The Director, Product Marketing will help set consistent strategy process, cohesive new market entry, help influence pricing to meet all of the key financial targets. This position will work cross functionally with business leaders/owners (i.e. lab managers, operations, sales, business owner, etc.) and management team to lead and develop strategies for profitable growth.
Lead the Product Marketing team in the development and implementation of business unit and Enterprise-level strategies to drive the company’s revenue goals by applying a comprehensive mix of marketing disciplines and strategies. Partner with Enterprise Leadership and Business Leadership Teams to align.
Work closely with Sales Leadership and Customer Support to better understand customer needs and insights to ensure adequate go-to-market approaches are defined.
Iteratively improve processes to effectively monitor customer insights, competitive landscape and product enhancements that will help better position the company competitively.
Provide leadership and guidance to the Product Marketing Team to ensure cohesiveness, efficiency and effectiveness is implemented within the team
Oversee the day-to-day product marketing operations to ensure the vision, strategy and processes are implemented.
Work with the Business Leadership and Executive Leadership Teams to establish appropriate expectations for the business unit’s performance that will encompass sales goals, price setting, market penetration, new opportunities, etc.
Develop, review and report monthly, quarterly and annual updates as directed to the that communicate the current and forecasted volume and the results of the business unit strategies and initiatives
Partners with marketing communications and operations teams to develop customer communication strategy and go-to-market plans.
Select, empower, coach and retain qualified staff that contributes to business unit and Company objectives. Provide technical direction, guidance and oversight as needed to ensure strategies are driving towards the company goals. This responsibility includes direct and indirect coaching, mentoring, and development of employees to ensure the strategic objectives are understood and executed by the team.
Master’s Degree in Business or Life Sciences required
Ph.D. in Business or Life Sciences preferred
10+ years of professional experience, preferably in Life Sciences
5+ years of experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical business, operational or marketing processes
Management, coaching and development experience a must
Understanding of genomics, sequencing, molecular biology products and services a plus
Demonstrated proficiency in marketing or product management including participating in market analysis, planning and new product development
Experience developing and presenting product marketing materials required
Excellent interpersonal skills; both verbal and written are essential
