Laboratory Technician, Oligo Synthesis

GENEWIZ is looking for a Full-time Laboratory Technician I to join our Cambridge team.

Position: Laboratory Technician I (2pm-10pm, Sunday-Thursday)

Responsibilities:

  • Strictly follow SOPs and trainer’s direction in training, sample handling, project processing, and documentation
  • Adhering to safety protocols to ensure a safe environment
  • Receive and sort incoming oligo orders and generate synthesis runs
  • Perform all items on pre-synthesis checklist for oligo synthesizers
  • Perform all oligo processing steps from synthesis through packing/shipment
  • Monitor departmental email inbox, able to identify and report items needing urgent action
  • Build knowledge on how our instruments work
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of work area
  • Waste collection management including packaging and remove biohazard waste and rinsing/recycling used glass bottles

  • Able to work 2pm-10pm Sunday-Thursday and open to flexible work hours based on business demand (full operation hours are 5am to 10pm, Sunday to Friday)

Experience (preferred but not required):   

  • Strong lab bench skills; pipetting experience
  • Automated liquid handling systems
  • Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, Word etc.)

Qualifications:  

  • HS Diploma required
  • A.S. Degree or equivalent lab experience preferred
